The TopLaxRecrits.com Preseason Girls’ Southern Rankings:
1. St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (VA) 0-0: The Saints open March 15 vs. St. Mary’s.
2. Bishop Ireton (VA) 0-0: The Cardinals open March 15 vs. Georgetown Visitation.
3. Milton (GA) 3-0: The Eagles continue to dominate, holding all three of their opponents scoreless. They have their first test Thursday against a competitive Walton squad.
4. St. Anne’s-Belfield (VA) 0-0: The Saints open Friday vs. Cardinal Gibbons at the “King of Spring” Tournament (Durham, NC).
5. St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) 7-0: The Raiders remain undefeated. They play Benjamin School today and the reigning state champs Vero Beach on Thursday.
6. Lake Highland Prep (FL) 7-1: The Highlanders defeated Ponte Vedra in a close 13-12 matchup. They face a competitive Bartram Trail on Saturday.
7. Walton (GA) 5-1: The Trojans had two dominating wins, defeating Kell (GA) and Wheeler (GA). They play Georgia state powerhouse Milton on Thursday.
8. Vero Beach (FL) 7-1: The Fighting Indians routed Olympia, 14-7, Monday for their sixth straight win. They play undefeated St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday.
9. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) 2-0: The Wildcats defeated the 2015 North Carolina state champs, Lake Norman, 17-6. They face the Ravenscroft School tomorrow.
(tie) 10. Olympia (FL) 10-2: The Titans had strong wins over Oviedo (FL), Freedom (FL), and Lake Brantley (FL). They face reigning state champs Vero Beach today.
tie 10. Coppell (TX) 5-0:The Cowgirls remain undefeated with wins over Ursuline Academy (TX), Flower Mound (TX), and Southlake Carroll (TX). The play Hockaday tomorrow before facing a strong Georgetown Visitation (VA) squad on Friday.
